The band started under the name Brightness of Darkness, but then soon the name changed toWinterflesh, then to Iceage and finally in 1999 the name Förgjord (Swedish for Destroyed) was chosen.

Participated on the compilation "Helvetin Musta Peto" (2009, Helvete.ru) with the track "Jättäkää Minut Korpeille".
